A while back when I was visiting the east coast with my bff Peri, she took me to Sweet Green for the first time (and for anyone who is unaware, they make the best, freshest and most FILLING salads of all time) and I fell in love.
Since we don't have a Sweet Green in AZ or Hawaii (tears), I had to recreate their Harvest Salad bowl so I could make it whenever the heck I wanted! Even though it's a salad, it's one of my husbands favorite meals (gasp) and gets him full, which isn't an easy task.

I've taken a lot of steps to further my health (limiting meat, eating more raw produce, limiting sugar, taking vitamins and a good probiotic...) but for me, I've noticed that when my day starts off right, it gets me energized and feeling good so I can conquer the day!
Even though there's tons of healthy pancake and smoothie bowl recipes out there and are awesome to have for breakfast a couple days a week, getting in the greens and limiting sugar (even natural fruit sugar) and grain intake in the morning is so so important! A nice green smoothie with less than 50% fruit helps stabilize blood sugar, subsides cravings, and gets that digestive track going, if ya know what I mean ;)
